Since its inception in 2013, under the support and direction of Polk Museum of Art in Lakeland, FL as an outreach program, Art Crawl Inc. has set out to bridge previously set boundaries on the emerging artist. Art Crawl is designed to break down social and culture boundaries through the arts by spotlighting emerging artists, performers, other area art organizations and grass root art movements whom may not fit the common tradition of art festivals in the area. As a result, this event has grown to include locally established artists, art organizations, colleges, galleries and grass root organizations in the pursuit of fresh contemporary art talent.
In 2017, Art Crawl’s founder, Ellen Chastain gained permission to file the event as its own non-profit organization. Today, Chastain is leading the event through a volunteer board comprised of professional art educators, artists and advocates to continue providing one of the area’s best platforms for encouraging artists and their counterparts.
Art Crawl is proud to remain supported and endorsed by Polk Museum of Art in addition to area businesses and other organizations sharing the vision. Together, we believe we can make a difference in the community at large…building relationships with artists, art organizations, sponsors and the community to bring about awareness, support and collaboration for the arts.
